I was born with cerebral palsy and have had some additional spinal injuries in the last few years. I work as a consultant for a company that makes AAC devices for people with disabilities. I’m also a speaker for SLP associations and programs across the nation. I’m passionate about communication access and creating pathways for people, young and old, to access technology that allows them to communicate independently.
I have cerebral palsy which has started to more negatively affect me with age. After a fall a few years ago, I have developed a serious of diagnoses surrounding my C6-7 discs. I am a father and partner, and this injury largely impacts how I want to show up for my family. My partner, Destiny, recently accepted a new job that is good for her career progression, but requires her to travel some. This means we are hiring a lot more help to assist me with our daughter, as I’m not able to do the things I usually could for her. This grant will allow me to show up in a greater way and give Destiny piece of mind while traveling.
