Amanda’s Story

I am a T12 paraplegic I sustained a SCI in 2009 from an ATV accident. I got married in 2011 and moved to another state. Fast forward to 2019 I was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent two separate rounds of chemotherapy. The cancer relapsed and I had to have a stem cell transplant in 2021. I am now almost four years in remission. However after being in the hospital for several months for the cancer treatments I have experienced back pain as well as lack of mobility and strength. I decided to try PT again and found Revive Neuro which is a specialized therapy facility located in Fort Mill. We also decided after my oncologist gave us the go ahead to TTC. I then experienced three miscarriages. In 2024 we decided to try IVF, we are excited to say that we are expecting our first baby in September 2025.

This grant would mean so much to me and my family. As it would allow me to become better physically fit and hopefully regain strength and mobility. And having the grant would allow us to pay of other medical debt and expenses from past cancer and infertility diagnosis.
