Luke’s Story

Two weeks after my 18th birthday I was in the desert riding a motorcycle, and I was in a head-on collision with a dune buggy. I was life flighted to a ICU in Palm Springs where I spent two weeks. After that, I was transferred to Radys Children’s Hospital, where I was recovering for four months. My injury left me C3 – C4 quadriplegic. I still have a positive outlook on life and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I enjoy playing video games with my mouth operating controller and also like to design and 3-D print things that make daily activities for those with spinal cord injuries easier. I currently am living on disability and have a hard time affording therapy costs.

This grant would be amazing to me because it would help me get stronger and try to do things or independently.
