David D’s Story

I was injured on August 5, 2017, while swimming with my family. My C5 vertebrae was fractured, and I became paralyzed in my hands, arms and legs. I spent 9 weeks at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, and then came home to Greensboro. It has now been 14 months since my accident, I have seen great strides in my recovery, and am working hard toward my goal of walking again.

As well as a rigorous therapy schedule, I am blessed to have a strong support system in the form of my wife, our son, and so many family members and friends who are behind me. We all believe strongly that I will walk again.
