Jeffrey’s Story

On August 8, 2022, I was involved in a serious car accident where the person T-boned my pickup truck while I was waiting to pull out of a gas station driveway. I was pinned under the passenger dashboard which resulted in a C4 spinal cord injury causing paralysis from my chest down. However, God spared my life and I believe I have a story to tell. Today, I continue to depend heavily on my wife, who is my primary caregiver. She supports me with many of the basic activities of daily living, and while her strength has been incredible, my ultimate goal is to regain as much independence as possible. I know that with access to continued and specialized therapy, I can build on the progress I’ve already made.
Receiving this grant would provide me with the opportunity to pursue more extensive rehabilitation—something that is essential to my long-term physical recovery and mental well-being. I am deeply motivated not just to improve my own quality of life, but also to give back by sharing my experience with others who have suffered traumatic injuries. I’ve already begun connecting with people in similar situations to offer encouragement, support, and hope for the future.
