Malia’s Story

Processed with VSCO with a8 preset

In April 2018, as I was visiting my niece and nephew, I began to have back spasms and severe pain. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance where the doctor discovered I had had a spinal cord stroke. I have a T-6-T-7 incomplete spinal cord injury. During my rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehab, I began to see some progress as I have continued my outpatient rehab.

I am still making progress. The therapy covered by insurance will end soon. I plan to continue with the community fitness program at Carolinas Rehab.
