Hi, my name is Mindy. On January 28th, 2023, my husband Scott P had a widow maker heart attack and an MCA stroke. We were shopping at Hanes Mall in Winston Salem, NC with our son who has autism. A paramedic and his wife who is a nurse started CPR along with another nurse also. Forsyth PD immediately called for an Ambulance. The Ambulance was able to get Scott to the hospital within minutes. That night I went home with my husband only having 4% chance of living. Around 1 am I called the hospital to check up on him. His chance of living had improved to around 15%. My husband Scott went through a lot while he was in the hospital. They tried to get me to send him to a facility in Georgia to live out his days. I simply refused. He had a trach and a feeding tube put in. He was in Forsyth for two months. Scott eventually went to Moses Cone hospital for therapy there they removed his trach. There I also got him to sit in a chair for a long period of time. I also got him to learn how to use utensils to eat. He was there for about a month. And then went to Hilcrest center in Winston Salem, NC. There he received therapy as well. Now Scott is at home and doing well. He has been going to Lexington Hospital for therapy, this is soon coming to an end cause of Medicaid. His therapist told us about Revive Neurorecovery Center in Fort Mill SC owned by Ashley Clark. Scott has seen her on several visits and would love to continue with her to gain his ability to walk again. He has a lot of potential to gain everything back. I have never let him give up no matter what.
