My Name is Brandon, I am 30 years old. When I was 19 and 2 weeks away from leaving for my second year of college, I had a car accident. I was thrown from my truck 40 ft. and was paralyzed from the waist down. After several months in the hospital and rehab, I came home to a totally different life than I had before my accident. Eventually I went to physical therapy and then was unable to go any longer when my dad lost his job and insurance. The insurance I currently have does not cover therapy. In the last several years I have had multiple surgeons due to pressure sores on my sacrum and foot. This is due to my legs, ankles and below the waist not getting the correct movement and exercise it needs. Almost 11 Years later I want nothing more than to get back into therapy and be able to possible stand with braces and see what it would be like to walk again.
This grant will mean a lot to me and my family. I want to live a healthier life and be the best I can be. My mother worries about me every day, this grant would make her so happy to see me happy again. She has watched me suffer from depression for almost 11 years. nothing would make her happier than to see me get the therapy I need.
