Melonie E.’s Story
Until recently I was the primary caretaker for my family. I’ve never had to ask
Until recently I was the primary caretaker for my family. I’ve never had to ask for help before when it came to my health. I was busy all the time and I loved it most of the time. But while I was making sure everyone else was well taken care of, I neglected myself. The Ischemic Stroke affected my dominant side. It completely turned life as I knew it upside down. It’s been very hard. But I am determined to make a good recovery … whatever that means. I want to be healthy and smarter.
This Grant will mean EVERYTHING. The one thought that is constantly on my mind is, “I’ve got to get better because people are depending on me”. My family is making changes and trying to make things work. But I’m needed. The opportunity to get extra help would be an answer to many prayers. It would be helpful physically but also emotionally.
